Acute kidney injury is common in ICU, occurring in up to 2/3 of patients, and sepsis is the most common condition associated with AKI. What remains unclear is the mechanism by which sepsis causes AKI. Theories include decreased RBF from systemic hypotension, structural changes to the kidney...
