Tantalising study - very small numbers so can't draw meaningful conclusions yet, but its always been an interesting theory - the runaway inflammatory response and whether or not we can reign that in. It seems to work in burns, so why not sepsis? | |

The use of B-blockers in sepsis could be considered a balancing act between the possible benefit to patients by decreasing the deleterious effects of catecholamine stimulation (seen in heart failure etc), vs the harmful effects of depressing myocardial performance and precipitating...
