This retrospecitve ELSO registry analysis primarily looks at the association between body weight and mortality in patients requiring V-V ECMO for respiratory support. In 1344 adults they found;
- age over 53 yrs, primary diagnosis other than pneumonia, and intubation for > 3 days...
